ORLANDO, FL (Apr 21, 2023) – WUCF’s Emmy Award-winning program, “Florida Road Trip” returns with all new episodes exploring the history and stories that make up Florida. New host Allison Godlove will visit cities across Central Florida and beyond to interview notable Floridians, take part in community events and explore historical landmarks.
The ninth season of “Florida Road Trip” debuts June 8, 2023 on WUCF. Host Allison Godlove, formerly Allison Kropff, worked as a news anchor for the CBS affiliate in Tampa Bay for more than a decade.
Buddy Pittman, who previously served as a host and Executive Producer for Florida Road Trip, recently ended his 50-year career in television in January 2023. Pittman will continue to serve as a consultant for WUCF and “Florida Road Trip.”
“‘Florida Road Trip’ is a fun and interesting way to explore the Sunshine State and share the unique stories of our state’s history,” said Godlove. “Storytelling has always been a passion of mine. Road Trip is a great way to tell the stories of the communities in which we live and visit. I’m looking forward to learning and sharing with you this season."
“Florida Road Trip” is a weekly, half-hour series that offers viewers an inside look at the state’s rich and diverse culture. The ninth season includes stops in Tallahassee, St. Augustine, Sarasota and Miami. It will also debut a special episode featuring inventors with ties to Florida.
Season nine of “Florida Road Trip” is supported in part by a Broadcasting Hope Media Grant from Florida Humanities designed to connect people with important Florida-focused topics.
“We’re excited to take everyone with us on the road as each episode looks at Florida through a historical lens. “Florida Road Trip’s” weekly journey connects the people, arts and culture that make each city unique. Florida is a diverse state with a rich history and we’re lucky to be able to share these great stories with everyone”, said Executive Producer Heather Bailey.
