WUCF NewsNight Team Honored as Finalist at Florida News Awards 2024

WUCF, Central Florida's PBS station, is proud to recognize Steve Mort, Krystel Knowles, and Mia Striegel as finalists for the 2024 Florida News Awards, hosted by the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists. The annual event celebrates excellence in journalism across the state and recognizes the exceptional talent and dedication of journalists in Florida. Steve Mort, Host and Executive Producer for NewsNight and Krystel Knowles, Senior Producer for NewsNight were named as finalists in the Political Reporting category for their exemplary contributions to broadcast journalism. Their commitment to delivering accurate, insightful, and impactful news through the current affairs program, NewsNight has been instrumental in shaping the media landscape in Central Florida. 

In addition to Steve and Krystel’s nominations, WUCF proudly acknowledges Mia Striegel’s recognition as a finalist for Political Reporting in the Professional category, as well. Mia was a student at University of Central Florida (UCF), and was part of the 2023 WUCF intern program, as a NewsNight intern.
