General Contest Rules for WUCF

These General Contest Rules apply to all contests and promotions conducted by WUCF. 
There may also be contest-specific rules that will be published and apply to a particular contest. 

How to enter or participate:
Unless otherwise noted, there is only one entry per person. 
In the event multiple entries are allowed, each entry must be submitted individually without mechanically reproduced or software reproduced entries.
Any material submitted to the station becomes the property of WUCF and will not be returned.
No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. Donation, payment, or purchase does not increase odds of winning.
WUCF, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify anyone from a contest or promotion if he or she tampers with the entry process, operation of the contest or promotion, or the operations of the stations website or social media.

Eligibility restrictions:
Contests and Promotions are open to all listeners 18 years of age or older who live in the area covered by the WUCF over-the-air broadcast signal and/or in the Orlando/Melbourne/Daytona market. Participants must be a legal resident of the United States to participate and win. Participants must possess a valid, government-issued ID and show proof of address/residency to verify eligibility.

Employees of WUCF, the University of Central Florida, any affiliated advertising and PR agency and participating sponsors/promotional partners are ineligible to participate and win.
Only one winner per household (whether related or not) is permitted in any contest.
Unless otherwise specified, a winner may only win a prize valued at $600 or more, once every six months.

Entry deadline dates:
Entry deadline dates will be published on the station contest page once a new one is announced.

Prizes:
Prizes are limited to the item(s) described on-air and in contest-specific rules. Prizes do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses.
Any tickets or time-specific prizes awarded are subject to the terms and conditions set forth by the issuer. They will be valid only for the date issued.
There is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent for prizes. Except, at the sole discretion of WUCF, and to the extent permitted by law, WUCF may substitute prizes of comparable value.
Prizes must be claimed in person at the offices of WUCF, 12461 Research Parkway, Suite 550, Orlando FL 32826-5066 during regular business hours (Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM) or via email if noted in the specific contest rules.
Prizes cannot be claimed by a third party on behalf of a winner.
Prizes must be claimed within 30 days of winning. Failure to claim the prize within 30 days will result in forfeiture of the prize.
Payment of all federal, state and local taxes is the sole responsibility of the winner. Contest winnings for an individual totaling more than $600 in a year are required to be reported to the Internal Revenue Service and winners should expect to receive a Form 1099. Winners may be required to accurately complete and submit IRS Form W-9 to WUCF TV as a condition of acceptance of a prize.
WUCF is not responsible for any prizes lost or stolen after they are claimed from the station.
Prizes are awarded “as is” with no guarantees or warranties as to use. Acceptance of a prize releases WUCF, its sponsors, underwriters and promotional partners from all liability and claims concerning the prize, its delivery, and its use.

Selection of Winners:
Contest and Promotion winners will be selected and notified of their prize in the manner announced by the station.
Unless otherwise specified, a winner must be able to be contacted within 24 hours after the prize is awarded. If the winner is unable to be contacted, an alternate winner may be selected at WUCF's discretion. Winners who don’t respond to WUCF within 24 hours of notification will be deemed to be waiving their claim to the prize.
In the event of a tie among eligible entries, a random drawing will be conducted by WUCF to determine the winner.
The odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received.

Conditions:
By participating in a contest or promotion, participants agree to be bound by the rules. 
Failure to abide by the rules may result in a participant’s disqualification, at the sole discretion of WUCF.
By participating in the contest or promotion, you are giving WUCF permission to photograph, film and video record your likeness, and audio record your voice. You are also giving us permission for WUCF to use your name, address (city and state), likeness, photograph, voice, and biographical information and/or statements made by you regarding the promotion or its sponsors for the purposes of publicity and promotion without any additional compensation.
 

By participating in the contest or promotion, participants releases and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless WUCF, its licensee, affiliates, subsidiaries, parent corporation/ownership and each of their officers, directors, employees, sponsors, underwriters, promotional partners and their successors and assigns from any and all liability, claims, actions and damages sustained or incurred by participation in the contest and receipt of any prize awarded.
WUCF will be excused from its obligation to conduct the contest if its performance is delayed or prevented due to causes beyond its control, including, but not limited to acts of God, public enemies, war, civil disorder, fire, flood, hurricanes, explosion, labor disputes or strikes, and any acts by governmental authority. 

WUCF is not responsible for failure to conduct or for alterations to the contest due to circumstances beyond our control.
WUCF reserves the right to end any contest, or amend these rules upon announcement on-air or publication.
WUCF reserves the right to make changes to the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize or prizes of equivalent or great value, which will become effective upon announcement on-air or publication on WUCF.org.
Decisions of WUCF Station Management with respect to contests and promotions are final.
The contest is void where prohibited. Contests and promotions are subject to all state, federal and local laws.
WUCF is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, online and social media posts, regarding the offering or administration of the contest.
WUCF is not responsible for lost, stolen, mutilated, misdirected, postage due, illegible, incomplete or late entries.
WUCF is not responsible for telephone or mobile service delays, busy signals, facsimile transmission errors, dropped calls, equipment malfunctions or failures, and any other technological difficulties that may prevent an individual from completing his/her entry by telephone call, mobile phone, text message, email, website entry or any means of entry. The station is not responsible for any contest entry problems caused by delay arising from streaming. It is possible entries may not be received due to difficulty in accessing the internet, service outage or delays, computer difficulties or other technical difficulties.
Use of the station website, WUCF.org constitutes agreement with the stations Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Message and data rates may be charged by your wireless carrier. WUCF is not responsible for any fees incurred by you for using your mobile device to enter a contest.
