Join WUCF and VyStar Credit Union for the PBS KIDS Preschool Book Drive! 

From November 1-30, 2024,  WUCF and VyStar Credit Union are teaming up to collect 5,000 new or gently used children's books for Head Start programs across Central Florida. This initiative is part of WUCF’s America250 Civic Engagement campaign, which focuses on building community and promoting educational equity through acts of kindness. 

We invite the community to donate picture books suitable for preschool through first grade at participating bookstores and VyStar Credit Union locations. Your contribution will help foster a love for reading among young learners, providing critical literacy resources to children who need them most. Research shows that children who develop strong reading skills by third grade are far more likely to succeed in school and beyond. 

This year, you can also support the PBS KIDS Book Drive from the comfort of your home. Simply donate online, and WUCF will purchase a new or gently used book on your behalf to benefit Head Start programs across Central Florida. Every contribution counts in helping us reach our goal of 5,000 books! 

Together, we can unlock the power of literacy and make a lasting impact on our community. No religious, adult, or violent content will be accepted. 

Let’s join forces to give every child a chance to learn, grow, and thrive through the magic of books!
