WUCF TV, Central Florida’s PBS station, will kick off its March on-air fundraising campaign on Saturday, February 29 with several new programs including Sesame Street: 50 Years and Still Sunny, Julia Child's Best Bites, and Celtic Thunder: Ireland.
The three-week campaign will also include programming such as Rise Up: Songs of the Women's Movement, Soul Legends (My Music), Dr. Fuhrman's Food as Medicine, Ken Burns' Country Music, locally produced documentary Mister Rogers It's You I Like, Suze Orman's Ultimate Retirement Guide, and more.
Viewers will have a chance to experience the beautiful wilderness at Wild Florida Adventure and score tickets to see “Brit Floyd” at the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center during our live night on Wednesday, March 4. Tickets to Wild Florida Adventure are available during NATURE: Wild Florida at 8 p.m. while “Brit Floyd” tickets will be available during Pink Floyd: Live from Venice at 9 p.m.
“Private funding makes up more than 35 percent of our annual revenue,” said Dr. Phil Hoffman, WUCF executive director. “This is why your support is critical in our mission to provide quality, educational programming to those in Central Florida.”
Community support is critical to WUCF’s success in Central Florida. Only on WUCF can viewers experience concerts, behind the scene interviews, and musical performances available on our four different television channels – WUCF, Create TV, PBSKids 24/7 and NHK World Japan.
Donations support WUCF’s mission of local storytelling as it invites viewers to invest in quality, educational programming that is accessible to communities across Central Florida. The support from our local community is why we are able to be Central Florida’s storyteller.
