WUCF TV, Central Florida’s PBS station, will kick off its June fundraising campaign on Friday, May 29 with several new programs airing throughout the drive including Iconic Women of Country and INXS: Live Baby Live as well as specials from Suze Orman, Rick Steves, NOVA and Central Florida Roadtrip. The 17-day campaign goal is set at $230,000.

Community support is critical to WUCF’s success in Central Florida. WUCF’s June on-air campaign directly impacts its fiscal year membership revenue goal of $2.6 million with private funding making up more than 35 percent of the annual revenue.

“Our donors make the difference at WUCF,” said Dr. Phil Hoffman, WUCF executive director. “A difference that is felt by the children of Central Florida who have access to WUCF At-Home Learning resources while away from the classroom. A difference felt by the citizens who appreciate the daily coverage of the evolving pandemic through programs like NewsNight and PBS NewsHour. And, a difference felt by those who wish to escape the news for a while, by watching our traditional broadcast schedule full of entertaining and inspiring programs and incredible dramas.”

Donations support WUCF’s mission of local storytelling as it invites viewers to invest in quality, educational programming that is accessible to communities across Central Florida. The support from our local community is why we are able to be Central Florida’s storyteller.
