Caillou debuted on PBS Kids on September 4, 2000.

PBS Kids is saying goodbye to Caillou, a Canadian educational television series, that has aired on the network since September 2000. The announcement to sunset the television series on-air and online came via PBS Kids on several social media channels saying "We're saying farewell to Caillou, but remember, when we say goodbye to something it just means we get to say hello to something new!" The network also included tips for talking to children about when their favorite media goes away: http://to.pbs.org/2X9xFLM

Caillou, produced for five seasons, is based on books by Hélène Desputeaux that center around a 4-year-old boy named Caillou who learns about the world around him. The last new episode of the show aired in Oct. 2010. Caillou will continue to be available on the PBS Kids Amazon Prime Video Channel.

With the announcement, PBS Kids has updated its 24/7 channel schedule and replaced Caillou with Splash and Bubbles. View the schedule here.
