Trip to New York City and Jazz at Lincoln Center - update!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ellis and Susan Braman donated in our Fall pledge drive, and to their surprise - their names were
drawn as the winners of our jazz trip to New York City! The Bramans just returned from the trip and
talked with our marketing coordinator Jan Whitehouse about the great time they had.
"From the time we left until the plane's wheels touched down back in Orlando, it was super!
The Kitano Hotel was delightful and was beautifully appointed, decorated in a Japanese theme,
to reflect its Japanese ownership." Ellis noted that it reminded him of the time he had spent in Japan.
"The Music of Billy Strayhorn concert at Jazz at Lincoln Center was stunning," Ellis told us, and
he was happy to report that three family members of Strayhorn were there, participating in a
round table. "The whole thing was just a dream. It was great to return and get in our car to
drive home and hear WUCF!" |
